
Dr. Peter Mitchell is a cultural historian, non-formal education trainer and co-founder and Executive Director of Lernlabor. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Edinburgh and has studied at the Free University of Berlin and the University of California, Berkeley.
Over the past five years, he has developed and led numerous educational and cultural projects in Germany, Ukraine, Greece and Mali. Alongside facilitating and managing international initiatives, Peter engages in policy discussions on non-formal education, youth work and inclusion.
He is certified by the German Alpine Club (DAV) as Trainer B in Alpine Climbing and Trainer C in Mountaineering, bringing professional standards and safety expertise into Lernlabor’s outdoor education work.
He has authored several articles for SALTO, focusing on solidarity and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth participation.
